45 hours at the Wheel

Our roadtrip was long, but so much fun! And those 45 hours only count MY driving hours...Bill drove 22 hours more home from Utah:)...I read most of the way...Heaven:) Here is a picture diary of what we did and what/who we saw...loads and loads of fun! Okay..I will do this in stages...so as not to bore anyone, including myself:)
I found the secret to looking thin...buy REALLY big furniture:) Here we are at The Big Texan in Amarillo...we hit a few Man V Food spots...this was the first of the trip.

Happy Birthday Christine!

Can it be that 19 years ago Christine joined our family? We were just thinking back on the summer that she was born. We were living in the most awesome place on earth...Newhall, California. We had ended our days at BYU and Bill was just starting his career in Southern Cal. Christine was late making her arrival...ugh! Grandma McClintic drove up from San Diego to help with William...Papa, Grandma and Aunt Marnie came from Utah for her blessing. And lucky William got to play with "Marnie-tah" for an extra week after all of the excitement of a new baby wore off:) Christine was the perfect baby, both in temperment and appearance. One of the delivery nurses said she looked like a little princess, and the name stuck...we often called her "Princecita" (little princess in Spanish)...and shortened it to "Rita"...don't ask how or why...but I often call her "Rita" more that her own name. We are blessed to call her our own. We love you Sweetheart! Happy Birthday (belated...:)!!!

Cruising... Down the Highway

We are making our annual pilgrimage to Utah...for one reason or another, we always seem to head to the proverbial "Zion"...this particular trip consists of Garrett, Grant and myself. Garrett will be dropped off at BYU on Monday for a 2 week theatre camp. Grant and I will find some mischief to get into, and then end the week in St. George. At the crack of dawn on Friday we will pick Christine up at McCarran Airport in Vegas and head south to San Diego. We are most excited to spend some time with family and see the beauties of my hometown. Then we will hit the road and travel 12 hours back to the SLC Airport to pick Bill up...he will fly in to enjoy a couple of days of R&R and to see Garrett's final performance at BYU. William will be done with his summer term at Snow and be able to travel back to TX with us for a few weeks before Fall semester starts...It will be a crazy couple of weeks...that's just the way we roll.
Pictures to come:)

Old Age or Over Activity?

Editor's note:  I wrote this about a year ago and never posted it...not sure why.  Perhaps because today I am really feeling the affects of age:)  Not sure if it is my groin or, once again, old age, but after sweating my head off on the elliptical machine, I'm not moving like I should...:(

I did some of this...

Followed by some of this...(not me in the photo...)

And now I am wasted! I would like to think my lack of energy and enthusiasm is due to pushing my body...unfortunately, it may be age related:( I keep telling myself that this old body has to hang in there for many more years to come...I have lots of traveling to do and lots of grand babies to love. I think I will get up off my ample behind and find something productive to do. Chao~

Little Miss Olivia

A family friend's little girl came all the way from El Paso to swim. Grandma put sunscreen in her hair and this was the result. Too cute. Come swim anytime Olivia. And bring your mom too:)

Allen Celebration

Each year we look forward to our city's celebration of the freedoms we enjoy as Americans. There is always great music, food, fun and fireworks. Tens of thousands of folks show up. We love hanging out with our friends and enjoying the sights and sounds...Garrett wasn't with us this year. He was participating in a huge youth dance festival and of course William was at school in Utah.

Bill must represent:)
